In the
modern world we are all always on the run: after wealth, position, possessions
and in the tension we forget to live. Stress builds up and as we tend to be
alone it worsens the situation. Overloading of work, politics at the workplace,
lack of promotions and recognition, the melee and snarls on the roads--all
together our lives are on tender hooks.
Each cell,
each nerve is tight and taut. The constant competition to surge ahead of
others, friction between colleagues and bosses and problems in the house make
our lives tense and strained.
Is there no way
out?
Why should one go after more and more money or possessions? Wealth or
possessions need not make us happy, the real purpose of life. Instead, can we not try to reduce our
expenditure? Can we not try to do something we enjoy doing and do what we do in
a better and more satisfying way? Can we not Find time to relax, go for a brisk
walk, a swim or go for cycling? Why not
we sit quiet somewhere breathing slowly
and deeply thinking nothing?
We come
from this universe, the basic structure of our body and that of everything else
is all the same subatomic particles. We are one with this universe and we share
the universal intelligence and we do not die; we simply merge into it. We will
be living for ever with the universe.
No worry,
no tension and no sorrow is permanent. Day gives way to night and there is
light surrounding a shadow; there is a birth for every death. The darkened sky
and looming hurricane will give way for quietness, zephyrs and light. After a
tsunami the ocean becomes tranquil and blue like a placid lake.
Time
heals everything. The forces that led you into the nether gloom of despair will
take you to realms of pure joy.
